Eco programme coming soon!
The energy class of washing machines and washer-dryers is determined by an energy efficiency index, identified for the "eco 40-60" test program and determined by measuring the weighted energy consumption at full, half and a quarter of the nominal capacity. The delegated acts detail the calculation to be performed and test methods to be implemented. The timeline of the change is indicated in the framework legislation.
New Eco-Designs rules.
In parallel with the rescaled energy label, also a new Eco-Design regulation is entering into force. The regulation introduces new requirements about energy efficiency, functionality, resource efficiency (e.g. availability of spare parts, after sales services to be provided to the customers...) and information availability.
